2nd Annual Wine on the Water Cruise

The 2nd Annual Wine on the Water - Channel Islands harbor cruise on the Scarlett Belle riverboat was on Sunday, September 9, 2012.

The Scarlett Belle Riverboat

Three Oxnard wineries - Rancho Ventavo, Magnavino, and Herzog - poured a combined six wine tastings and served delicious appetizers. A great way to spend the afternoon.

Smooth sailing around the Channel Islands Harbor - no wine was spilled due to waves.

Low Bridge!

A three-point landing

There's nothing better than enjoying a glass of your favorite wine and watching the paddle wheels spin on a beautiful southern California day.

Cheers!

6th Annual Calabasas Malibu Wine & Food Festival

The rooftop of the Calabasas Mercedes-Benz in Calabasas was the site of the 6th Annual Calabasas Malibu Wine & Food Festival. The event raised money for the Children's Tumor Foundation. Although it was held on a weekend in June (23rd & 24th) I waited to publish this Taste N Trip entry at the same time as the article in the Sept/Oct issue of Calabasas Style.
It was an enjoyable afternoon of food, wine, beer, and even spirits for some.  I concentrated mostly on wine tasting, but it was pretty hot weather, so I had a few sips of thirst-quenching beer too...
